The first official trailer for Danny Boyle's new Sex Pistols limited series Pistol has arrived. Written and created by Craig Pearce and directed by Danny Boyle, the six-episode series is based on Steve Jones' memoir, Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol.
It's arriving May 31 on Disney+ and stars Toby Wallace as Jones, Jacob Slater as Paul Cook, Anson Boon as John Lydon and Christian Lees as Glen Matlock. Maisie Williams also appears as the late punk legend Pamela Rooke — otherwise known as Jordan — and you get a brief peek at her wild hair and iconic makeup in the trailer.
The rest of the trailer features a bunch of young punks raging against the system cut with some high-energy performance scenes and early '70s British news footage. It looks like a pretty glossy affair, and you can check it out for yourself below.
Former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon is decidedly not on board with the project, after losing a court battle with his former bandmates over their use of Sex Pistols music in the series and saying, "it's a strange, strange world we live in; the Sex Pistols have become the property of Mickey fucking Mouse."
