The 2023 JUNO Awards will take place in Edmonton, AB, this coming March, and organizers have announced that Nickelback and Tate McRae will take part in the celebrations as live performers.

The renowned rock outfit and fast-rising pop power — both of whom hail from Alberta — will perform live at Rogers Place on March 13 as part of the 2023 awards ceremony.

Nickelback's JUNO Awards performance coincides with the band's induction into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS). They aren't ready to rest on their laurels just yet, of course, with new album Get Rollin' arriving at week's end following a Toronto release show.

No strangers to the JUNO Awards stage, the Hanna, AB-founded Nickelback won their first-ever hardware in 2001 for Best New Group. In the years since, they've collected a total of 12 awards spanning seven categories, and have performed at previous JUNO Awards ceremonies in Newfoundland (2002), Edmonton (2004), Halifax (2006), Vancouver (2009) and Ottawa (2012).

"Returning home to Alberta, where everything started for us, is truly a full circle, milestone moment for the band," frontman Chad Kroeger shares in a statement. "We take so much pride in our Canadian roots and are extremely humbled by this honour."

McRae, the Calgary-born artist who delivered debut LP i used to think i could fly earlier this year, recently saw her single "you broke me first" hit a billion Spotify streams.

Ahead of their 2023 celebrations, the JUNO Awards also announced that longtime concert promoter, manager, mentor and philanthropist Ron Sakamoto will receive the Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award, to be awarded March 11.

The 2023 JUNO Awards ceremony will stream live across Canada, at 6 p.m. MT / 8 p.m. ET on CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, CBC Listen, and globally at CBCMusic.ca/junos and CBC Music's Facebook, YouTube and Twitter pages.

A ticket pre-sale for the 2023 JUNO Awards Broadcast runs today through November 16 at 11:59 p.m. MT, ahead of tickets going on sale to the general public on Friday (November 18). Tickets start at $49 (including taxes/fees), with further information available via Ticketmaster.
