The late MF DOOM's life, career and legacy will be the subject of a "definitive" biography arriving this October.

The Chronicles of DOOM: Unraveling Rap's Masked Iconoclast arrives October 29 via Astra House, and was authored by journalist-turned-record producer S.H. "Skiz" Fernando.

Per an abstract, Fernando's tome is broken into five sections: The Man, The Myth, The Mask, The Music, and The Legend. Across 352 pages, the author "deftly lays out the history of East-Coast rap against DOOM's life story and dissects the personas, projects, tracks, and lyrics that led to his immortality."

The book is said to provide "an unknown, intimate, behind-the-scenes look into DOOM's life" through "exclusive interviews with those who worked closely" with the artist.

As an author, Fernando is best recognized for 1994's The New Beats: Exploring the Music, Culture, and Attitudes of Hip-Hop. He most recently published Wu-Tang Clan biography From the Streets of Shaolin: The Wu-Tang Saga in 2021, and also shared recipes with Rice & Curry: Sri Lankan Home Cooking in 2011.

The Chronicles of DOOM is now available for pre-order.

MF DOOM passed away on October 31, 2020, at age 49, with the world learning of his death months later. The artist born Daniel Dumile's cause of death was revealed last July.

MF DOOM and Madlib's collaborative album Madvillainy recently turned 20 years old. Last October, the artist's estate sued a former associate over alleged theft of DOOM's lyric books.
