The World Reacts to MF DOOM's Death
Q-Tip, El-P, Flying Lotus, Cadence Weapon, Backxwash and more have paid tribute

A Tribe Called Quest's Q-Tip called DOOM "your favorite MC's MC," while Lupe Fiasco recalled "wanting to be like him" in sharing one of his favourite DOOM bars.
Cadence Weapon shared how DOOM's 1999 solo debut, Operation: Doomsday, was a life-changing listen. "His impact on music might never be properly measured," he wrote. "He changed everything. He changed the way we rapped but he also changed how we all listened, what we listened for."
El-P recalled first meeting the artist in 1996 at a video shoot, not long after releasing his first single as MF DOOM. "Before that i was already a KMD fan but this was some next shit," El-P reflected. "I told him it sounded like he was a fallen angel. he said yeah that's pretty on point. we laughed then smoked cigarettes on the staircase and drank a little liquor. through the years we got to connect and hang a handful more. he was a cool motherfucker. he was a writers writer."
