Walkmen singer Hamilton Leithauser is getting set to release a new solo album, rumoured to be called The Love of Your Life, and he is giving us a taste by revealing a new song called "Here They Come." But his given us quite the unique preview by debuting the track in front of a famous fan — Ethan Hawke.

UPDATE (2/7, 12 p.m. EST): You can now hear the full version of "Here They Come" at the bottom of the page.

In a new video, Leithauser explains that his next album is a collection of songs about real people, some friends and some strangers.

"The song 'Here They Come' is about a friend who is constantly running from his problems," Hamilton says in the clip. "I love him to death but when the going gets tough, he'll always just cut and run. The song is about the specific moment when the lights are coming up in a movie theater where he's been hiding all day."

He questions himself about including too much detail about a person in a song and plays it for Hawke to gauge his opinion. Spoiler: it doesn't end so well for the singer-songwriter.

The song is officially out tomorrow (February 7), but you can get a preview of it down below. The video also is called "Episode One," so it's safe to assume more like-minded clips will be headed our way.

As for The Love of Your Life, the details of the album have yet to be revealed, but expect more info about the record soon.
