Sublime with Rome Will Soon Be Without

Rome Ramirez is leaving the band at the end of 2024

Rome Ramirez has announced that Sublime with Rome will soon be no more, as he's leaving the band.

The Long Beach legends of Sublime invited the singer-guitarist to replace the late Bradley Nowell in 2009. Ramirez and surviving members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh had planned to continue performing as Sublime — but, in light of a cease-and-desist from the Nowell estate, they went forth as Sublime with Rome (even after Gaugh left the band in 2011).

They've toured consistently for the past 15 years, performing much of the original Sublime catalogue as well as releasing three albums of their own.

Today, Ramirez shared that he'll be departing the group at the end of 2024. "The upcoming performances over the next year will allow us to reflect on the countless incredible memories together!" he shared in a statement, explaining that he's been working on solo music that he wants to pursue full-time.

"Singing and playing guitar for this iconic band has been a lifetime opportunity and just flat-out absolutely epic," he continued. "Carrying on the Sublime legacy has been a trust I'll forever cherish."

Ramirez also shared the news in a video posted to his YouTube channel, which you can watch below.
