Neil Young's beloved After the Gold Rush turned 50 this past September, and while he has plenty of other projects on his plate, the songwriter has now detailed some anniversary reissue plans for his third studio effort.
A 50th anniversary reissue of After the Gold Rush will first arrive digitally and on CD on December 11 through Reprise, while a deluxe vinyl box set will follow on March 19.
The vinyl box includes the album alongside a bonus 7-inch, which boasts two versions of album outtake "Wonderin'" The A-side version, recorded in Topanga in 1970, was previously released as part of Young's massive Archives Vol. 1 box set, and you can hear it below.
The vinyl package is rounded out with a variant of the artwork originally created by Neil's long-time art director Gary Burden, in collaboration with Jenice Heo, and a litho print of the cover. The CD version will include the different artwork plus the two versions of "Wonderin'," added after the album.
Both CD and vinyl anniversary versions of After the Gold Rush are now available to pre-order.
Following the release of The Times EP in September, Young recently shared rarity "Homefires" in previewing his Archives Vol. II release, due out in November. That same month, he'll deliver concert film and live album Return to Greendale.
