Eminem appears to be teasing his 12th studio album — as well as the end of his Slim Shady alter ego.
On social media, the artist has shared a teaser for The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace), teasing its summer 2024 arrival. It's the follow-up to 2020's Music to Be Murdered By.
The Death of Slim Shady's teaser is modelled after true crime television. The host of Detroit Murder Files shares, "Through his complex and oft-criticized, tongue-twisting rhymes, the anti-hero known as Slim Shady has had no shortage of enemies."
50 Cent appears as a guest, offering of his longtime contemporary, "He's not a friend, he's a psychopath."
The reporter continues, "The same rude lyrics and controversial antics may have ultimately led to his demise. Join me as we recreate the events that led to the murder of Slim Shady."
An interview subject granted pixelated anonymity says, "I knew it was only a matter of time for Slim," before he inadvertently reveals himself to be Eminem.
The artist's best-known alter ego, Slim Shady was first introduced by Eminem on 1997's Slim Shady EP. He's since assumed the identity on tracks across his discography.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Eminem was co-producing forthcoming superfan documentary Stans.
