Ahead of International Women's Day this weekend (March 8), Women in Music Canada (WIMC) has handed out its third annual honours to women and gender-diverse people in the industry.
Taking home the Artist of the Year award in 2025 is Toronto-based singer-songwriter Nemahsis, whose 2024 debut album Verbathim has also earned the Palestinian-Canadian numerous JUNO nods.
Additional honours were issued to Ebonnie Rowe (Entrepreneur of the Year), TMU/SOCAN's Dr. Charlie Wall-Andrews (Change Maker of the Year), Folk on the Rocks Artistic Director Carly McFadden (Excellence in Music), Alysha Brilla (International Leader of the Year) and more.
