Continuing to roll out music videos for his bespectacled musical alter ego Your Boy Tony Braxton, Shad has shared another playful visual for Adult Contempt cut "Kick."
Directed by Sammy Rawal, the video was inspired by iconic '80s music videos from Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, featuring a lively dance circle at a house party.
"The idea was to capture that aesthetic and pacing but infuse it with more contemporary elements." Rawal said in a statement. "The finished video reads as a mashup between old and new."
"[Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam's] 'I Wonder If I Take You Home' video was the main inspiration. Also Janet videos," Shad added. "I like how the retro-vibe and playfulness of the song/video play alongside lyrics about desiring to mature."
Shad will perform as Your Boy Tony Braxton in December alongside Tokyo Police Club. You can find the dates and the video for "Kick" below.
