Shad Shares New Your Boy Tony Braxton Video for "Good (Enough)"

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Oct 20, 2016

Earlier this year, Shad dressed himself up in a leather jacket and glasses to become Your Boy Tony Braxton, delivering a full-length of breezy R&B pop tunes in Adult Contempt. Now, the rapper has released a video for his musical alter ego's track "Good (Enough)."

Directed by Justin Broadbent, the video sees Your Boy head back to the golden age of video stores. Working as a clerk, the clip opens with him trying to get Broken Social Scene's Brendan Canning to rent a copy of Speed 2 on VHS. He tells other customers of his love for Titanic, who brush him off in search of other titles.

Shad told Noisey that "this is a song about a man who's just beginning to understand what's behind his loneliness, insecurity and rage."

Broadbent added, "I wanted to make a video that affirmed it was ok to like things like Speed 2. We often get in our heads about our futures or art making and need to take a step back and truly enjoy things for what they are."

Shad will perform as Your Boy Tony Braxton in December alongside Tokyo Police Club. You can find the dates and the video for "Good (Enough)" below.
