Coldplay have been pretty heavy on the covers lately. After sending off Elton John via broadcast at an earlier night of their Gothenburg, Sweden residency, Chris Martin played a piano rendition of Backstreet Boys' 1997 hit "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)."
The cover is pretty on the nose, considering Backstreet Boys flew to Sweden to record songs with Max Martin and the late Dennis Pop. It's also very on-brand for Martin to cover bubblegum pop in earnest. Listen to it below.
Any Canadians hoping to watch Coldplay not "do a fucking matinee" are only in luck if they live in Vancouver, where they'll play in September.
