"Stay safe & see you next summer"

Like basically every artist, the National are postponing their summer tour, including the band's various Canadian stops.

"We're sad to announce that our 2020 summer dates are postponed due to COVID-19," the band tweeted today. "We're working hard to reschedule each date for 2021. As soon as we have dates & details confirmed we'll let you know. Tickets will be honored/refunded at that time. Stay safe & see you next summer."

The effected dates include Canadian stops in Ottawa, Winnipeg and Edmonton. That Ottawa appearance was to come as part of the RBC Bluesfest, which also isn't happening this year. Openers on the tour were to include Lucy Dacus, Julia Jacklin and Sharon Van Etten.

The tour was to be in support of the National's most recent album, 2019's I Am Easy to Find, as well as an upcoming 10th anniversary reissue of their 2010 album High Violet. That arrives on June 19.
