Not only did Prince release a politically charged song called "Baltimore" this month, but the Purple One performed a couple of a peace-oriented concerts. Now, he has shared the full soundboard recording of one of those shows.
The gig was called "Dance Rally 4 Peace," and Prince performed alongside his band 3RDEYEGIRL at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota on May 2.
The 41-minute live recording begins with five minutes of a DJ, but Prince and 3RDEYEGIRL take over from there. In keeping with the band's stripped-down style, the performance emphasizes the rocking side of Prince's output, as he cranks the distortion and unleashes his inner guitar hero.

This live set was followed by a second "Dance Rally 4 Peace" gig a week later, on May 10, in Baltimore. There's no word as to whether that set will also be released. The gigs were a response to the death of Freddie Gray, a Baltimore man who died while in police custody. As a result of Gray's death, the city became a hotbed for riots and social upheaval.
