Last year, HBO shone a light on the chaos that was Woodstock '99, and now Netflix is tackling the same subject matter. The three-episode docuseries Clusterf**k: Woodstock '99 will be out on August 3, and the trailer can be seen now.
The trailer looks more or less the same as last year's HBO doc, bringing together musicians and various experts to discuss the violence, misogyny and anarchy of the music festival. Korn and Jewel are among the interviewees.
The synopsis reads, "Woodstock '99 was supposed to be a millennium-defining celebration of peace, love and great music. Instead, the festival degenerated into an epic clusterf*ck of fires, riots and destruction. Utilizing rare insider footage and eyewitness interviews with an impressive list of festival staffers, performers and attendees, this docuseries goes behind the scenes to reveal the egos, greed and music that fuelled three days of utter chaos."
As much as this seems like a simple retread of last year's doc, Netflix has actually been working on this series for a few years. It was first announced in 2020.
