Luna Li Is "Alone but Not Lonely" in New Video

Before hitting the road with Japanese Breakfast later this year, Toronto's resident dream-popster Luna Li — a.k.a. Hannah Kim — has released a new song titled "Alone but Not Lonely," as well as a new video.

Inviting us into her "mythical workshop," the accompanying visuals directed by Maya Balkaran and Kostadin Koley see Kim touring empty studio spaces with her own doubles while crafting clay globes, a motif that serves as a reminder "that every person is a world within themselves."

Kim elaborated in a release:

I wrote "Alone but Not Lonely" in my very first apartment which was cockroach infested. I was feeling really uncomfortable and lonely in the new space, and decided to write this song to cheer myself up and entertain my newfound insect friends. The phrase "Alone but Not Lonely" is a mantra I use to remind myself that time I spend with myself is valuable and special, something that should be celebrated.

The song is a piece of a yet-to-be-announced larger body of work that will make up Luna Li's debut full-length album. So far, she's yet to make an official announcement about that, so stay tuned as more information becomes available.
