A botched press stunt? A new singer? Something to do with Sum 41's Deryck Whibley? Massive troll campaign? Whatever Linkin Park have been up to since launching that mysterious countdown clock the other day seems to finally be unravelling, as the band have now unveiled another clock, which is counting up from 22 hours and 40-something minutes, as of press time.

They also confirmed in a separate post that "something" is indeed happening on September 5, the date sleuthed out by fans online after it appeared in social posts as a "glitch" in their previous countdown.

UPDATE (8/29, 1:55 p.m. ET): The band appear to be hosting an event in Los Angeles on September 5 between 12:30 and 5:30 p.m. A fan club newsletter obtained by Loudwire includes sparse details, but notes that attendees will be selected at random from the subscriber list to RSVP. Eligible parties have to have been fan club members prior to August 24.

We still have mostly no idea what LP are up to, but thankfully, we won't have to wait too long to find out. Hedge your bets in the comments section of the Instagram post below, like other fans have been doing.
