Linkin Park's announcement of their new singer in the absence of the late Chester Bennington went unexpectedly, to say the least. It had been rumoured that the band would be making a comeback with a woman on vocals, and that much was true — Emily Armstrong (of Dead Sara) is now fronting Linkin Park, despite quickly being exposed as having ties to the Church of Scientology and convicted rapist Danny Masterson.

Following Bennington's death in 2017, his pre-Linkin band Grey Daze also regrouped, finishing up unearthed material they had recorded with the singer in the '90s to release as the 2020 album Amends, as well as 2022's The Phoenix. Now, Grey Daze have released their first new song with singer Cris Hodges, who started playing shows with them back in 2023.

"The last couple of years have been about celebrating Chester Bennington and his incredible influence with Grey Daze," Hodges said [via BrooklynVegan]. "But now, it's time to turn the page and start writing the next chapter."

You can hear their new track, a rip-roaring number called "Fake Little Lies," below.
