Kathleen Edwards has shared that her forthcoming sixth album will be produced by Jason Isbell.

On X (formerly Twitter), the singer-songwriter shared that she will soon head to Nashville to record a follow-up to 2020's Total Freedom.

"A year ago I had started writing songs for a new album," Edwards shared. "Here we are today, first day of August and I'm about to head to Nashville to record a new album with Jason Isbell producing. Pretty exciting stuff."

Total Freedom marked Edwards's first full-length since 2012's Voyageur. In 2022, she shared an acoustic EP, and earlier this year, paid tribute to Gordon Lightfoot as part of a star-studded tribute concert at Massey Hall.
