She was set to play the festival's opening evening tonight

Ahead of kicking off their 2019 edition today, organizers for Ottawa's RBC Bluesfest have announced Jessie Reyez will no longer perform on the festival's opening evening.

In announcing a scheduling update this afternoon, organizers wrote Reyez was "injured during her recent performance at Firefly Festival" in Delaware, adding she "has been advised not to fly or perform for the next few weeks in order to heal properly."

While Reyez has yet to announce the cancellation herself, she shared a photo following her June 23 performance at Firefly Festival revealing she had injured her knee at the event. Here's hoping the injury isn't too serious and Reyez makes a full recovery.

Reyez released her Being Human in Public EP last year. Forthcoming Canadian dates on her summer tour itinerary include stops at BC's Squamish Constellation Music Festival, Montreal's Osheaga and Riverfest Elora.

Other acts set to play the RBC Bluesfest are the likes of the Killers, Eric Church, Backstreet Boys, Kygo, Alexisonfire, Logic, Snoop Dogg, Kane Brown, the Glorious Sons, Wu-Tang Clan, CHVRCHES, First Aid Kit and the Offspring.
