Resident Toronto R&B crooner Charlotte Day Wilson has officially announced plans for her debut full-length album. The record is called Alpha, and it's due to be released on July 9 through Stone Woman Music.
Today, the artist shares her latest single attached to the effort, a track titled "If I Could," which arrives with a video co-directed by Wilson and Kevan Funk. Showcasing "female rodeoers, changing faces and identities," the clip alludes to themes further explored in Alpha.
In addition to "If I Could," the record will include Wilson's recently released singles "Take Care of You" (featuring Los Angeles singer Syd) and last year's "Mountains." Notably, the album also features a new collaboration with fellow Torontonians BADBADNOTGOOD on a track titled "I Can Only Whisper."
The 11-track album is said to be a "journey of metaphor and earnest declarations, recollecting Charlotte's inner struggles of love, growing, and breaking that she's finally speaking to in a greater way."
Alpha marks Wilson's follow-up to 2018's Stone Woman.
