It's an unusual choice, given that Oscar performers tend to come from Best Original Song nominees. Eilish did not contribute to any of this year's nominated films, though she is set to do the new Bond theme. So perhaps some sort of surprise debut of her song is in the works for the performance.
Elton John has also been announced as an Oscar ceremony performer. He will perform "(I'm Gonna) Love Me Again" from Rocketman, which is nominated for Best Original Song.
