Prior to beginning her career as an activist documentary filmmaker, American Canadian Abenaki artist Alanis Obomsawin began her artistic life as a singer and musician in the 1960s. Now, her musical work is set to be revisited with the reissue of her legendary LP Bush Lady.

Obomsawin's lone full-length, recorded and released in 1985, will return on vinyl, CD and digital formats June 15 through Constellation. The album will arrive on 180-gram wax with audio remastered from the original tapes, while it also marks Bush Lady's first appearance on CD.

Bush Lady was initially recorded and released through the CBC in 1985, though Obomsawin found herself unsatisfied with the finished product. After reclaiming her masters, she remixed the material and rerecorded the title track with additional instrumentation, re-releasing the album herself through her own private press in 1988.

Bush Lady is available for pre-order through Constellation here. Hear album opener "Odana" in the player below.
