The Trailer for David Cronenberg's 'Crimes of the Future' Is Here

Guts and gore galore

David Cronenberg's latest feature Crimes of the Future finally has an official trailer, and hoo boy — it's a doozy.

Starring Kristen Stewart, Viggo Mortensen and Léa Seydoux, the film marks Cronenberg's first foray back into filmmaking since 2014's Maps to the Stars. It arrives in theatres on June 3, but today, we're getting a first taste of the horrors to come.

It's probably best to soak it all in visually, but the trailer does get a little spooky at times, so the faint-hearted should maybe read Neon's synopsis [via Variety] first:

As the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the body undergoes new transformations and mutations. With his partner Caprice (Seydoux), Saul Tenser (Mortensen), celebrity performance artist, publicly showcases the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde performances. Timlin (Stewart), an investigator from the National Organ Registry, obsessively tracks their movements, which is when a mysterious group is revealed… Their mission – to use Saul's notoriety to shed light on the next phase of human evolution.

The film is rated R for "strong disturbing violent content and grisly images, graphic nudity, and some language." Keep that in mind when you watch the trailer below.
