Michael B. Jordan Doesn't Not Love Winnipeg

We haven't not arrived at the city's next tourism slogan

In theatres tomorrow (March 3), Creed III is one of our most anticipated films of the year — but its star and director, Michael B. Jordan, might be looking even more forward to his next trip to Winnipeg. Well, he's ambivalent about it, at the very least.

Promoting the film, the actor swung by Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this week for a segment that included being challenged to answer the internet's least-searched questions about him for some reason. The host started off with perhaps the most hard-hitting query imaginable: does Michael B. Jordan love Winnipeg?

After a pause, Jordan answered cautiously, "I don't not love Winnipeg," giving Manitoba's capital city higher praise than most may dare — except for Laura Jane Grace, who proclaimed last year that she wants to move there and may still be fielding marriage proposals from eligible Canadians to make it happen.

While still recovering from the end of another White Boy Summer around the same time last fall, Chet Hanks paid the 'peg a visit to recommend that inhabitants do 100 burpees per day to unlock "self-mastery." (If anything, that might help Manitobans stay warm in the non-white boy seasons.)

So that's all to say: Jordan's not alone in bravely speaking out about Winnipeg. Even Tourism Winnipeg was undoubtedly flattered by his remark — they tweeted a clip of his Kimmel appearance, adding, "Thanks for providing us with our next tourism campaign slogan!"

The organization even went a step further to design T-shirts inspired by the "I ❤️ NY" classic, photoshopping the actor into a white tee that reads, "I DON'T NOT ❤️ WINNIPEG."

"Any time we have an A-list celebrity that is going to tell us they don't not love us, that's a win in our books," Tyler Walsh, marketing director for Economic Development Winnipeg and Tourism Winnipeg, told CBC News.

It remains unclear whether Jordan even knows what or where Winnipeg is, let alone if he's actually been there — but the city certainly seems willing to welcome him with open arms. Or he's not unwelcome, anyway.
