Keanu Reeves' comic series BRZRKR is being adapted for a feature film and anime series by Netflix. Reeves is on board to star in and produce the film, as well as voice the follow-up animated series for the streamer.
The story — based on Reeves' 12-issue limited BOOM! Studios comic — will follow "a brutally epic saga about an immortal warrior's 80,000-year fight through the ages," as described by Netflix.
BOOM!'s synopsis reads:
The man known only as 'B' (Reeves) is half-mortal and half-god, cursed and compelled to violence… even at the sacrifice of his sanity. But after wandering the earth for centuries, B may have finally found a refuge — working for the U.S. government to fight the battles too violent and too dangerous for anyone else. In exchange, B will be granted the one thing he desires – the truth about his endless blood-soaked existence…and how to end it.
The subsequent series "will further expand the BRZRKR universe by exploring different elements of the story," according to BOOM! Studios.
The original comic was created by co-writers Reeves and Matt Kindt, alongside Marvel artist Ron Garney, colourist Bill Crabtree, Hellboy letterer Clem Robins and character/cover designer Rafael Grampá.
So far, Reeves is the only actor signed on to the project.

Here's hoping he doesn't have to pony up for his own BRZRKR merch.
