Scream is back! After extensive rumours and reports, the '90s horror franchise is returning in 2022 with a new film, simply titled Scream, and the first trailer is here.
Despite not being titled Scream 5, this is a sequel rather than a reboot. Set 25 years after the events of the first film, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette return to their roles alongside a new cast of teens.
The trailer follows closely in the footsteps of the original, with the masked Ghostface attacking a teenage girl with a knife. This time around, there are decidedly modern references to landlines and smart home security systems.
The new cast additions include Melissa Barrera, Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Marley Shelton, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Sonia Ammar. It's directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
Watch the trailer below. Scream is out on January 14 through Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group.
