The recent shooting incident involving Tory Lanez has taken an unexpected turn, as reports are now stating the Toronto artist was the shooter who left Megan Thee Stallion hospitalized.

As TMZ reports, sources close to the investigation have told the publication that it was Lanez who opened fire and allegedly hit Megan Thee Stallion.

According to the report, an argument started between Lanez and Megan after they left a Hollywood Hills party together on Sunday morning (July 12). When the American artist and her friend Kelsey Nicole reportedly wanted out of the vehicle, that's when shots were fired from inside the SUV. These allegedly hit Meghan in the feet twice.

As previously reported, Lanez has been charged with possessing a concealed weapon. However, police have not charged him with shooting Megan Thee Stallion, though she did confirm in an Instagram post following the incident that she was indeed shot.

UPDATE (7/17, 3:30 p.m. ET): The LAPD are reportedly investigating the allegations that Lanez shot Megan Thee Stallion. According to reports, police have now opened an assault with a deadly weapon investigation.

According to TMZ, Lanez may not currently be facing charges connected to actually shooing Megan due to the fact that he may be claiming the shooting was accidental. Police previously stated that a gun had been fired into the air and not directly at someone.

Also, TMZ speculates that since Megan is an alleged domestic violence survivor, she may not be coming forward to accuse Lanez of the shooting. After all, she did initially tell police she cut her feet on shattered glass and only came forward about being shot later.

Finally, witnesses are reportedly not cooperating with police, adding an extra complication to the entire incident.
