After sharing their video for "Collector" with us last year, Toronto prog metal outfit Red Handed Denial are ready to release the song's parent project Wanderer. Before the EP's release, Exclaim! has the entire effort available to stream right here.
Six tracks in length, Wanderer is said to explore a look at "our world's loss of humanity due to greed, wrath, and the of lust for power," according to a press release. Through the group's technically-inclined musicianship and the ferocious vocals of Lauren Babic each track is said to capture "a key event in the character's life as they slowly decline into a darkness full of sadness, anger and eventual violence."
Then, as the album/story unfolds, "many controversial global issues emerge such as the stigmas surrounding mental illness, rape culture, religious hypocrisy, the abuse of power and humanity's struggle with faith."
The band will celebrate the April 22 arrival of Wanderer with an EP release show at My Drunken Uncle's Pub (formerly Rancho Relaxo) in Toronto. The evening will feature support from Odd Ones, Mirrelia, Earth's Yellow Sun, and New Design. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $10 here.
Before heading out to catch them live, take a listen to Wanderer in its entirety in the player below.
