Grammy-dominating super-trio boygenius already announced a hiatus, but fans hoping that would mean the three members of the group would turn their attention to their solo careers are about to be disappointed: Phoebe Bridgers has vowed to disappear from public life in 2024.

"I made the decision three years ago to take a massive step back. I think we all want a little break," Bridgers told Vanity Fair. "I can't function if I do anything in 2024 that is public. The boys have been my biggest supporters in that."

In the interview, Bridgers and bandmates Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker dispelled rumours that there was any bad blood between them — whisperings that began after fans noticed that Dacus and Bridgers had unfollowed each other and boygenius on Instagram.

"We are meeting up for dinner after this call. Everyone can be rest assured that we still love each other," Dacus said.

Bridgers has wiped all of her social media, including deleting her Twitter/X account and removing everything from Instagram (including unfollowing absolutely everybody). "I can't feel my life right now, and I'm working to be able to, and the internet doesn't help," she said.
