On the heels of releasing their new song "Stuckinthemiddle," Toronto's MONOWHALES have mapped out a slew of tour dates that will bring them across Canada this summer and fall.
The indie rock outfit will kick things off by supporting Our Lady Peace for two nights in the picturesque Bala, ON, before going forth to perform at several summer festivals, including Montreal's Osheaga and Truro's Rock the Hub. In September, the three-piece begin a run of headlining dates on the West Coast in Winnipeg, with multiple stops in Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. They'll have their grand finale at Saskatoon's the Roxy on October 6.
Tickets are available now via the band's website.
Of the single, bandleader Sally Shaar said in a statement:
Every day is a constant struggle. I feel pushed and pulled around by my past, present and future. My upbringing and the trauma that's seeded deep within me can be so easily triggered it becomes habitual. "StuckintheMiddle" is the caged-up embodiment of this unsteady confusion and inner-rage. Presumptions about my every action can be judged and manipulated by a parent, friend, stranger or even my own self-destructive brain. At a certain point all this pressure starts to feel like a bottle shaken up and poised to explode. When I sing this song I am screaming out my spite, my angst, my rage in hopes that I can grow self-aware enough to set myself free. Until that day comes, I have this song to console me.
"StuckintheMiddle" previews Tunnel Vision — the forthcoming album from MONOWHALES. It follows their 2021 offering Daytona Bleach.
