Known for his viral "internet drama" videos as well as being a close collaborator of Charlotte Cardin, Montreal songwriter Lubalin has quickly become a notable figure in Canadian music. Now, he's shared a new single an announced his upcoming debut album.

"bullet time" comes from his upcoming album haha, no worries, due out December 6 via Cult Nation. The song comes from the sessions for Cardin's 99 Nights, and was written by Lubalin along with Cardin and Jason Brando.

"It just didn't fit Charlotte's sound at the time, so we shelved it," Lubalin said in a statement. "Eventually, the sound started to emerge for this album. There's a lot of drum & bass inspiration, organic drum breaks, this sense of motion, chopped background vocals... it's very cool, but I also like things that are right on the edge of being cheesy. It's almost like The Matrix soundtrack meets 2000s soft pop."

Hear "bullet time" below. The cover artwork follows in the style of the art for recent singles "trust issues," "you know me" and "just love," meaning that those songs are presumably included on haha, no worries also.
