The Polaris Music Prize has announced the 10 albums that have made the 2024 short list.
The short list, which the jury selected from the previously announced long list of 40, is as follows:

The Beaches - Blame My Ex
Charlotte Cardin - 99 Nights
DijahSB - The Flower That Knew
Jeremy Dutcher - Motewolonuwok
Elisapie - Inuktitut
Cindy Lee - Diamond Jubilee
NOBRO - Set Your Pussy Free
Allison Russell - The Returner
TOBi - Panic
The winner will be announced at the Polaris Gala at Massey Hall on September 17. The night will feature a lineup of performers including Charlotte Cardin, Jeremy Dutcher, BAMBII, Elisapie, DijahSB, NOBRO and TOBi. Beaches singer Jordan Miller and the Thunder Queens will perform.
The winner of the Polaris Music Prize will receive $50,000.
The Beaches are currently on the cover of Exclaim!'s latest issue. Short list nominees Charlotte Cardin, Jeremy Dutcher, TOBi and Allison Russell are also past cover stars.
