Ahead of a new EP arriving this summer, Lex Leosis has shared the first single from the effort.
The breezy bounce of "Won't Wait," produced by Rainer Blanchaer (Rainer + Grimm), is the first taste of the former Sorority spitter's forthcoming EP Terracotta, due to arrive July 9.
"I think we've all been in a romantic situation where you feel like someone is stringing you along. You feel the connection strong when you're together but distance brings out the uncertainty and you don't feel as close to them as you once did," Lex said of the single. "I feel like women especially are made to feel "clingy and crazy" when we just want some communication."
The six-song Terracotta, on which Blanchaer is also an executive producer, follows Lex's 2020 project Mythologies.
As its title implies, Terracotta is a further refining and moulding of Lex's art after the COVID-19 pandemic put the brakes on planned support of her aforementioned 2020 album.
"I was coming off releasing Mythologies and I was sad that I had to cancel a lot of my rollout plans. No interviews, shows/tours or celebrations," she recalled. "I put my whole heart into that project and to see that I couldn't continue my rollout because of the pandemic was a big blow. Instead of letting it defeat me, I decided that it would make me stronger and that I would use this time to rebuild."
