Ahead of the release of his Good Gold Cassette EP next month, Exclaim! Class of 2024 grad His His — the solo project of Toronto's Aidan Belo — has announced a run of North American tour dates to close out the year, shared alongside new single "My Friend Wants to be a Freemason."

The EP track is, who'd of thought, "a song about one of my childhood friends who had the idea of joining the freemasonry," Belo explained in a press release. "Prior to his fascination [with] becoming a freemason, I had very little knowledge of what it meant and what it is that they do. The idea of joining this secret society consumed my friend, and for a couple of months it was all that he'd talk about."

"The obsession eventually fizzled out and I never heard about it again," he remembered. "A few months later, I found out that one of the regulars who eats at my dad's restaurant, where I work, is the officer for the Masonic lodge that is in town. I never introduced my friend to him, but I wrote a song about it."

Hear the melancholic "My Friend Wants to be a Freemason" below, where you'll also find the His His tour itinerary — including a trio of Canadian dates in Windsor (November 28), Toronto (November 29) and Montreal (December 6).
