Hear the Week's Best New Canadian Music: Tokyo Police Club, Blue Hawaii, Dan Boeckner, KALLITECHNIS

BY Exclaim! StaffPublished Mar 15, 2024

If you're struggling to get the hang of Photoshop, you're not alone; even the monarchy are in the same boat — either that, or Kate Middleton has long disappeared. You can, however, still crown yourself an editing whiz by working some of the best new Canadian music into your playlists.

This week, we have the final songs from the long-running institution that is Tokyo Police Club, the return of Blue Hawaii, and KALLITECHNIS teaming up with donSMITH.

Album releases are led by new LPs from Dan Boeckner (Boeckner!), Cell Press (Cages), Devon Welsh, Adrian Sutherland and Rezz. There are also fresh EPs by Comeback Kid (Trouble) and Yoo Doo Right (The Sacred Fuck EP).

Elsewhere, some familiar faces step out solo (Milk & Bone's KROY, Caveboy's Ballsy), and Exclaim! Class of 2023 alumni Sham Family grace our Staff Picks section with their latest single, "Modern Myth." Myriam Gendron and Casey MQ have announced new albums, and Population II are prepping a new EP, while BADBADNOTGOOD lend an assist to Baby Rose, and Cola taste the fruits of their labour.

Delve into the layers and your ears are sure to declare a masterpiece with the The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters — all Canadian and proud of it!
