At this point, we all have to really be hoping that the old "April showers bring May flowers" adage is true. Although we're less than a week into this shiny new month, we're already being showered with a torrential downpour of new Canadian music.
Cadence Weapon teams up with Machinedrum to drum on the machine with "My Computer," meanwhile Bibi Club share the first English-language single from Feu de garde: the perhaps deceptively titled "Parc de Beauvoir."
This week in album releases, we have new records from Wine Lips (Super Mega Ultra), Zeina, Dana Gavanski and Empanadas Ilegales, as well as the collaborative debut from the trio of Joseph Shabason, Nicholas Krgovich and M. Sage. On the short king side of things, we have new EPs from poolblood and Cavetown's Ballsy.
Elsewhere, Kelly McMichael, Lubalin, and Glitter Party all come back strong, and Jon McKiel continues to preview Hex with "Everlee," while Dump Babes and Luka Kuplowsky usher in new eras (and albums). There's also the Black girl banjo-magic team-up of Kaïa Kater and Allison Russell, the pair paying tribute to their shared hometown on "In Montreal."
Get into the cats and dogs of it all with The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters — all Canadian and proud of it!
