Florence + the Machine Unveil New Album 'Dance Fever'

The follow-up to 2018's 'High As Hope" is almost upon us

BY Megan LaPierrePublished Mar 9, 2022

Hot on the heels of first single "King," Florence + the Machine went on to share additional new song "Heaven Is Here" earlier this week — so it was only a matter of time before an album announcement was to follow: enter Dance Fever.

UPDATE (3/10, 11:00 a.m. ET): Dance Fever will be released on May 13 via Polydor. Alongside the release date announcement, they've shared another new song titled "My Love," co-produced by Jack Antonoff and Glass Animals' Dave Bayley. Though it began as a "sad little poem," according to a press release, the song took its final form as a thumping, disco-indebted floor-filler.

That's right, the follow-up to 2018's High As Hope is finally (almost) upon us.

Bandleader and mother witch Florence Welch shared the album artwork — shot by photographer Autumn de Wilde —  on Instagram today, captioned: "A fairytale in 14 songs." She also noted that an album preorder will be available from 8 a.m. GMT (3 a.m. ET) onwards.

Watch this space for further album details (tracklist, release date, etc.) to come. For now, we'll be trying both halves of the album title for today's Wordle.

See Welch's post below, where you'll also find the feverish dance video for "Heaven Is Here" — the first song she had written in lockdown.
