In a series of tweets, El-P revealed that busy schedules had got in the way of them completing their fourth album. On the bright side, he and Killer Mike are "fully back on it and psyched to get it to you all when it's ready," which will likely be in summer 2019.
Here's what he had to say:
no sorry we don't release our albums on instagram. i'm deleting them just for the fuck of it and starting again because why the fuck do i need thousand of pictures of my life available to the public, you know? https://t.co/M5WTDX5c3y

it's not a delay it's just the truth of the schedule. we ran for 2 years straight off 3 and had to handle some regular life shit for a half year when it wound down. we are back on our shit now though and excited about it. https://t.co/P8ZD2vT2UH

oh and at the risk of losing the mystery of it all, RTJ4 will probably hit around summer time. i'm sorry if that schedule disappoints anyone but we need the time to make sure the music doesn't. ❤️

Even though Run the Jewels 4 won't arrive in 2018, the duo have had a productive year. They collaborated with BOOTS and (their tour-mate) Lorde, acted as Record Store Day ambassadors, and released a song for the Venom soundtrack.
