Their '9th & Walnut' album arrives in July

Ahead of taking listeners back to 9th & Walnut next month, Descendents have dropped off another taste of what's to come from their eighth studio full-length.

"Nightage" is the band's latest catalogue entry to sport an "-age" suffix, and you can hear the urgent album cut below.

As bassist Tony Lombardo shared with Rolling Stone last month, "Nightage" was penned in tribute to a member of the L.A. punk scene who had caught his eye (and ear) ahead of joining Descendents.

"That was written about Dianne Chai of the Alley Cats, because I was kind of enamoured of her, both as a really, really good bass player and as a nice-looking woman," Lombardo revealed. "Her style is very in the groove and very cool."

9th & Walnut arrives July 23 via Epitaph and follows 2016's Hypercaffium Spazzinate.

The forthcoming LP features songs written by Descendents between 1977 and 1981, now recorded and released by their "classic" lineup of Milo Aukerman, Frank Navetta, Lombardo and Bill Stevenson.
