Lauded as both a skillful songwriter and instrumentalist, Bruce Cockburn is set to let his six strings do the talking on a new instrumental album later this year.
Cockburn will deliver new album Crowing Ignites through his longtime label home True North Records on September 20. Eleven tracks in length, the album was produced, recorded and mixed by Colin Linden, and recorded at the Firehouse in San Francisco.
The title Crowing Ignites is a translation of Latin motto "Accendit Cantu," which is found on the artist's family crest. Alongside the announcement, Cockburn has shared a taste of what's to come from the disc with "Blind Willie," which can be heard below.
Cockburn has also mapped out an extensive tour of North America, which includes a wealth of Canadian stops. You can find his complete itinerary below.
