Vancouver-based group the Ballantynes bring together soul, garage and R&B influences to craft their own unique sound — one that was displayed on their latest LP Dark Drives, Life Signs. Now, that record's lead single "Argent" has been given the video treatment and Exclaim! has got your first look at the new visuals.
The clip was directed by Matty Reed and features artfully filtered footage layered atop the on-camera story of a young woman making her way through town, turning down romantic advances from rose-wielding suitors on her way to meet up with a pal. The multilayered effects and backwards-rolling film give it a non-linear vibe and force the viewer to take a second look.
