Last year, it was revealed that goofy, gory metal aficionado turned goofy, gory horror film aficionado Rob Zombie would be facing his final frontier: PG-rated cinema.
Zombie confirmed that he'd be helming the official reboot of '60s TV classic The Munsters in 2021, and now we get our first look at his first family-friendly flick. It stars Zombie's wife Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster, while Daniel Roebuck plays her father the Count and Jeff Daniel Phillips — otherwise known as the Geico caveman — plays Herman Munster. The cast also includes Cassandra "Elvira" Peterson, Dee Wallace, and original Munsters stars Butch Patrick and Pat Priest
Judging by the trailer, the movie looks like a shticky rom-com kinda deal that leans into the retro campiness of the original series. There's a whole lot of heavy prosthetics, face paint, intense green lighting and Halloween display-set pieces, and you can check it out below.
The Munsters arrives in September.
