Respectively, Keanu Reeves and Jonah Hill have both been part of some pretty iconic onscreen duos — Seth and Evan (Michael Cera) in Superbad, Keanu and puppies on The Tonight Show, etc. But now it sounds like they might join forces for Hill's next directorial effort, following last year's excellent Stutz.

According to Deadline, Hill's new dark comedy entitled Outcome has been acquired by Apple Original Films, and Reeves is currently in negotiations to star in it alongside him.

Co-written with Ezra Woods, Hill's script would see Reeves play Reef, who is described as "a damaged Hollywood star who must dive into the dark depths of his past to confront his demons and make amends after he is extorted with a mysterious video clip from his past."

Apple Studios will produce the film in collaboration with Hill and Matt Dines, under their Strong Baby banner. Hill previously worked with Apple on a Martin Scorsese-directed Grateful Dead biopic that is in development.

Reeves obviously recently starred in John Wick: Chapter 4 — but, arguably more importantly, he also explained why he loves Alvvays. At the other end of the spectrum, it was revealed that Hill initially hated his Superbad co-star Christopher Mintz-Plasse, so may the odds be ever in Reeves's favour.
