Following 2018's Indigo LP (plus the recent concert album Live from Brooklyn Steel), dream-pop project Wild Nothing has unveiled a new single in advance of a new EP. Laughing Gas is due out on January 31 via Captured Tracks, and the single "Foyer" can be heard now.

An announcement reveals that these five songs were originally recorded in Los Angeles as part of the sessions for Indigo, but they didn't quite fit in with the rest of the album. Project mastermind Jack Tatum continued to tinker with the songs back home in Richmond, VA, eventually reconnecting with Indigo co-producer Jorge Elbrecht for mixing.

According to an announcement, "Often considered a secondary or transitional format, Wild Nothing has always used the EP to further explore new ideas and influences. Laughing Gas is no exception."

"Foyer" is hazy, '80s-leaning slice of jangly electro-pop, its dreamy synths underlaid with a faint funk swagger. Hear the song below, along with last year's single "Blue Wings," which also appears on the EP.

Laughing Gas:

1. Sleight of Hand
2. Dizziness
3. Foyer
4. Blue Wings
5. The World Is a Hungry Place
