Following the untimely death of legendary rapper DMX earlier this year, HBO has released the trailer for its documentary, Don't Try to Understand, chronicling X's final tour. The film is due to be released on November 25.
Executive producer Bill Simmons and director Christopher Frierson's documentary "follows a year in the life of the late rapper as he worked to rebuild his career and reconnect with family and fans," and arrives as one part of the six-part Music Box film series.
The trailer shows the late rapper being released from a 12-month sentence in 2019, after being convicted of felony tax evasion charges. The following footage sees X performing live for his adoring fans, offering words of wisdom and delivering "the gospel according to X."
As previously reported, the rap icon born Earl Simmons died on April 9 this year at the age of 50 after being hospitalized and put on life support on April 2. His cause of death was later confirmed to be a cocaine-induced heart attack that caused a lack of blood circulation to his brain.
