Watch the Killers Cover the Smiths with Johnny Marr

They knew you heard this one before, but didn't stop

Johnny Marr has been opening for the Killers on the first leg of their North American tour, and he hasn't missed the opportunity to join them on stage. In both Vancouver and Seattle, Marr came out during the headlining set to perform a handful of Smiths tracks.

On top of helping out Brandon Flowers and co. with "Mr. Brightside," Marr covered some Smiths fan favourites with the band, including "Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before," "What She Said" and "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out."

This is great news for anyone who loves the Smiths but is tired of that wazzock Morrissey — including Marr himself, who is trying his best to separate the art from the artist.

This isn't the first time Marr has played with the Killers (who have cited him and the Smiths as influences many times throughout the years). Back in 2019, they played "This Charming Man" together at Glastonbury.

Check out all three Smiths covers from Marr and the Killers, as well as their performance of "Mr. Brightside" below.
