Following the release of his latest record Free, Iggy Pop has shared a stark new video for the album track "We Are the People."
The Simon Taylor-directed video is shot with Iggy in hyper-focus, repeating the words to the song over and over. Album collaborator Leron Thomas's trumpet and keys can be heard on the track. The spoken-word lyrics are derived from Lou Reed's 1970 poem by the same name.
The intense video arrives today, on what would have been Reed's 78th birthday.
Free was released on September 6 via Loma Vista. Free was Iggy Pop's first since 2016's Post Pop Depression, and it was recorded with Thomas and Noveller.
