Melbourne psych-rockers the Murlocs have announced their sixth record Rapscallion, which is arriving September 16 on ATO Records. Alongside the album announcement, they've also shared new single "Virgin Criminal" and revealed that they'll be playing a string of Canadian shows on their upcoming fall tour.
The band will be hitting Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver on November 11, 12 and 23 respectively, where they'll be joined by Grace Cummings.
Rapscallion is described as being inspired by frontman Ambrose Kenny-Smith's "adolescence as a nomadic skate kid." Both Kenny-Smith and bass player Cook Craig are members of King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, and the Murloc's sound is a slightly leaner, meaner vision of that band's swirling psych rock.
