The Idol ended its rocky run last night (July 2), but before it did, the Weeknd's show went out with a parting shot at Kanye West, who was mocked for his decline in success since declaring "I like Hitler" late last year.
In the episode, pop star Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) is considering going on tour. Eli Roth plays Andrew Finkelstein, a Live Nation rep, who says, "You know, fucking Kanye was filling arenas until he decided to start following Adolf Hitler."
Ye lost numerous sponsorships in the wake of his many antisemitic remarks last year, including his high-profile deal with Adidas and his relationship with Balenciaga. He hasn't performed live or released music commercially since then.
Previously, Ye and the Weeknd had been collaborators, with the latter featuring on the former's songs "FML" and "Hurricane."
